World Kidney Day – Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine to Keep Your Kidney Healthy

Your kidney system has one of the most important roles in the body. It is responsible for purifying and detoxifying your blood. If you didn’t have proper functioning kidneys, your body would shutdown from the buildup of toxins in your blood in a matter of days. The center of your kidney system is of course the kidneys themselves. Your kidneys are fist sized bean shaped organs that sit on either side of your back. They not only help to clean your body of toxins, but they also help your body absorb vital nutrients.

Due to the importance of your kidneys it is important that you take steps to invest in their long term health. This is especially true because of how easy it is to actually damage your kidneys or other parts of the kidney system. All of the different substances that we put in our body on a day to day basis buildup overtime and can damage our kidneys. Some of the more obvious ways we damage our kidneys are:

  1. Heavy use of pain killers
  2. Overuse of sodium
  3. Not drinking enough water
  4. Unhealthy diet with lots of sugars and processed foods

One of the best ways to prevent damaging your kidney is to utilize Ayurvedic remedies to keep your kidney system functioning properly. The remedies themselves are actually pretty simple and not too difficult to prepare yourself at home. Check some of the guidelines below:

  • Drink plenty of after and stay hydrated. The water will function as a natural detoxifier and lubricant.
  • Include bitter gourd in your diet.
  • Drink 2 tbsps of neem juice two times a day.

Following these simple procedures will keep your kidneys and your kidney system functioning great.
