Your period can be aggravating as it comes with so many different ailments. Everything from moodiness to mensural cramping. You don’t have to take all manner of painkillers to get through your menstrual cycle though. You can adjust your diet and get some pain relief the natural way. Below are some of the best foods to alleviate menstrual cramp pain:

1. Nuts And Seeds:

Nuts is one of the best things that you can eat when suffering from menstrual cramps. Nuts and seeds are rich in magnesium which helps to alleviate cravings you might have for junk foods and chocolates. These foods can result in bloating and feelings of discomfort.

2. Beans And Legumes:

During your period, your digestive system becomes irregular. Eating lots of dietary fiber can help to stabilize your digestive system and get things back on track. Beans and legumes are perfect for that. Their dietary fiber content will push things through your digestive tract. Just make sure not to over indulge on them, because too many beans can result in a buildup of gas. The beans also have vitamin B which helps your body to flush out toxins.

3. Caffeine:

Caffeine is not just great for helping you to get up and go, but it can also lead to some of the pain you may suffer from during your period. Instead of caffeine, try drinking ginger based tea. Ginger has an anti-inflammatory and an antibacterial component. These can provide some serious relief to menstrual cramping pain.

4. Dark Chocolate:

Dark chocolate is the one type of chocolate you should eat during your period. It has the dual ability to simultaneously satiate your junk food and sweet tooth cravings, while boosting your serotonin levels. Eating chocolate can also help you regulate fatigue and depression. Don’t overdo it though. Try only eating a couple ounces at a time.
