Regularly occurring high blood pressure can be sign of a serious problem, specifically it can be a sign that you have Type-1 or Type-2 diabetes. And if you have diabetes of any kind, it is important that you spend some effort in lowering and regulating your blood sugar levels. Indian food has some great food options to help you achieve this:

Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds, otherwise known as methi seeds, are a classic method for diabetes prevention and control. It fights diabetes specifically by helping to lower the body’s blood sugar levels by affecting the rate of digestion.

Psyllium Seeds

Psyllium husks is a great option for lowering your blood sugar levels. When the seeds are digested, viscous fibers stored in the psyllium husk absorbs water and transforms into a thick mass that has a similar constitution to jelly. The viscous substance reduces the rate that your body breaks food down into nutrients and stores it in your cells.

Millets

Millets are some of the oldest domesticated crops over the course of human history. They are a group of small seed grasses that grow in parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Millet is also a great source of magnesium, a mineral responsible for producing an enzyme that digests carbs.

Bitter Gourd

Bitter gourd is a food that has a bit of an acquired taste to enjoy. But if you can get around the taste, you will find that bitter gourd or karela, possesses active substances containing high glucose lowering properties.

Brown Rice

Brown rice is substantially more nutritious than refined white rice that you typically eat in restaurants. It is a whole grain so it will help with digestive health and make sure that food smoothly moves through your bowels. Brown rice is also rich in manganese which helps to produce an antioxidant enzyme which helps with the digestion of starch.
