Natural Remedies for Summer Skin Problems

With summer fast approaching, it brings with it a possibility of myriad skin problems like inflamed/irritated skin or prickly heat skin conditions. Apart from following a healthy diet and staying hydrated, there are other natural remedies which could come in handy to keep your skin supple and healthy. Read on to know about a few treatments that you can try at home to get relief from summer skin conditions –

1.Oatmeal Bath

Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups oatmeal
  • Lukewarm water
  • Bathtub

Procedure

  1. Pour the oatmeal into the war bathwater.
  2. Completely submerge yourself in the water and soak for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Use the oatmeal to gently scrub the affected areas to exfoliate the skin.

Frequency

  • Repeat this every 2-3 days.
  • Why This Works

Oatmeal makes for a great natural exfoliator thanks to the granular oat pieces. When you use the oatmeal exfoliant, it will remove the dead or damaged skin that is making you feel irritated.

2. Aloe Vera Gel For Prickly Heat

Ingredients

  • 1 aloe leaf

Procedure

  1. Pluck an aloe leaf and cut it open.
  2. Squeeze out the leaf’s natural gel into a bowl.
  3. Apply the gel to the affected part of the body and thoroughly massage it in.
    • Note: If you cannot lay your hands on an aloe plant, use an aloe-rich moisturizing lotion.

Frequency

  • Repeat once or twice daily, until you feel relief from the pain.
  • Why This Works

Aloe vera gel has antibacterial properties, which is one of the reasons it makes for such a popular burn ointment. It will reduce rashes caused by head, and alleviate inflammation and the accompanying redness.
