How to heal ringworm

Ringworm is a very common condition. Don’t go by the name, the disease has nothing to do with worms. The cause of this condition is Tinea, a fungus which is highly infectious. Ringworm is very infectious and can affect anyone though certain people are more likely to develop the condition. The latter particularly includes those with lower immunity levels. You should always consult with your doctor before you try any of the following home remedies.

Home remedies to treat ringworm

  • Apple cider vinegar is known to have anti-fungal properties and can help keep fungus at bay. You can soak some cotton wool in vinegar, undiluted, and wipe on the ringworm-affected area. Repeat this exercise about thrice a day to get relief.
  • Coconut oil makes a powerful anti-fungal agent. This is owing to the presence of several powerful fatty acids in the oil which can damage the cells of the fungus. It is recommended to apply the oil to the skin thrice a day. Coconut oil is also an excellent moisturizer and will keep the skin healthy.
  • Turmeric is known to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and agents. You can mix turmeric with water or coconut oil and make a paste. Apply this paste to the skin.
  • Tea tree oil makes a powerful remedy to treat ringworm. You can procure some pure tea tree oil and dilute it with a cold-pressed carrier oil. Apply it in a very diluted form. Also, remember to do a patch test first to ensure the oil suits your skin.
  • Oil of Oregano is also a very powerful way to treat ringworm as it contains two very potent anti-fungal compounds. You should remember to use the oil of wild oregano and not common oregano. Also, remember to dilute the oil with a carrier oil first.
