  • Regular exercise: Make it a point to exercise regularly. This is a great way to reduce blood pressure naturally. What’s more, exercise also makes your heart stronger, improves stamina, and reduces the pressure in the arteries as the heart’s efficiency to pump blood increases manifold.
  • Cut down on your alcohol intake: You should cut down on your alcohol intake as alcohol is known to increase blood pressure. It is believed that about 16% of high blood pressure cases throughout the world are linked in some way to the consumption of alcohol.
  • Limit the intake of coffee: If you thought those extra cups of coffee are doing you good, think again. Caffeine is known to cause an instant increase in blood pressure. However, there is a lack of sufficient data when it comes to ascertaining that the regular intake of coffee can lead to an increase in blood pressure. On the contrary, some studies indicate that the consumption of tea and coffee in moderate amounts can reduce the risk of heart disease as well as high blood pressure.
  • You should include potassium-rich foods in your diet. These are known to help reduce blood pressure. Our diets consistently include large amounts of sodium while cutting back on potassium levels. You should be adding more potassium to your diet by limiting the consumption of processed foods and eating green leafy vegetables, potatoes, tomatoes, and fruits instead which pack in lots of potassium.
