A Thanksgiving Turkey has a special place in cuisine because of what it represents. Thanksgiving itself is supposed to represent a moment when we’re thankful for everything that we have in our lives. A Thanksgiving Turkey is supposed to represent the perfect dinner for such an occasion. Wholesome, festive and extraordinarily delicious, this is the one dish that personifies what this occasion is all about.

Ingredients

dried parsley: 2 tbsp

ground dried rosemary: 2 tbsp

rubbed dried sage: 2 tbsp

dried thyme leaves: 2 tbsp

lemon-pepper: 1 tbsp

tbsp of salt: 1

whole turkey, neck and giblets removed: 1

celery--chopped: 2

orange, cut into wedges: 1

chopped onion: 1

carrot, chopped: 1

chicken broth: 1 can

How To Make Thanksgiving Turkey

  • Preheat an oven to around 350 degrees F.
  • Make sure you cover the roaster with aluminum foil.
  • Wrap the roaster itself with aluminum foil.
  • Stir together the parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme, lemon, pepper and salt in a bowl.
  • Rub this mixture into the interiors of the turkey.
  • Now stuff the turkey with celery, orange, onions and carrots.
  • Now place the turkey into the roasting pan.
  • Pour some of the chicken broth over the turkey and inside it as well.
  • Seal the aluminum foils over the top but make sure the turkey breast or legs don’t touch them.
  • Bake the turkey for around 2 ½ to 3 until it’s properly cooked in the middle and no juices remain.
  • Now uncover the aluminum foil and bake for around 30 minutes more.
  • Insert an instant read thermometer which should read 180 degrees F.
  • Remove the turkey and cover with a double layer of aluminum foil.
  • Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
