Setlzer water

Setlzer water

Seltzer water is technically just plain water, which has been carbonated artificially. It got its name from the German town of Selters where it was first consumed. What’s fascinating about seltzer water is that it doesn’t contain any sodium salts. Although it was introduced as a cheap substitute to mineral waters, it still holds that economical yet beneficial position in many parts of the world. Many health conscious individuals would cry out loud that seltzer water is too much of a deviation from their normal diet without realizing that it contains numerous health benefits such as the ability to provide hydration, wean and individual off of a bad soda habit and even calm a hungry stomach. Seltzer water is primarily used for weight loss.

How To Make Setlzer water

Seltzer water can be used in a variety of different ways. It can be consumed on its own or turned into cocktails when mixed with different ingredients. An example is strawberry mint soda.

  • Simply divide the mint leaves between 4 liters of seltzer water, squeeze them to release as much oil as possible.
  • Divide the strawberries in equal portions for the 4 liters of seltzer water.
  • Cover the freshly prepared cocktail and place it in a fridge for 1 to 3 hours. It will allow the oil to blend in with the water.
  • Drink chilled or at room temperature.

Trivia

  • Did you know that seltzer water can be healthier than regular drinking water? This can be especially true when you’re traveling abroad where contaminated water sources are common. The carbonated water can help to fill the same purpose of water and add more health benefits.

Some people claim that seltzer water deprives the bones of calcium and over time, weakens their structural integrity. This isn’t the case and has no studies backing it up.
