Scampi

The word ‘scampi’ by itself refers to the name of a type of crustacean, which is found along the whole of the Mediterranean and North Atlantic Sea. Scampi has become synonymous with any dish that is made with scampi shrimps and thus, there are uncountable versions of this dish, popular across the world today.

The recipe that we have here comes from the United Kingdom, where scampi dishes are a beloved part of any outing or gathering with friends and family. Scampi dishes have become so popular across the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, and Greece that sometimes when there is a shortage of scampi shrimps, there would be other shrimps used to substitute scampi, but the dish itself would still be called scampi because it remains the most popular and famous type of shrimp.

Below we have a recipe for breaded scampi dish. This dish is very typical to the United Kingdom and indeed, can be found in both homes and pubs across the country. You can serve the shrimps with chips baked in the oven and tartar sauce to complete English flavours of this dish.
