cups of water: 4

tbsp of rose hips (dried): 4

tbsp of sugar for taste (or as needed): 2

How To Make Rose Hip Tea

  • Pour 4 cups of water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil.
  • Add the rose hips to the boiling water and cover the mixture. Reduce the heat to low-medium and stir gently for about 8 minutes.
  • Add 1 or 2 tbsp of sugar into the saucepan and stir until it is fully dissolved in the mixture.
  • Stop heating the saucepan. Leave it covered and set it aside for about 10 minutes.
  • Filter the tea using a fine sieve.
  • Either cool the mixture to room temperature or drink hot, as is needed.

  • Experiments have shown that rose hip tea can help to lower the risk of various types of cancer because of they contain lycopene.
  • The scientific name for Rose hip is Rosa rubiginosa.
  • The rose is native to areas of Europe of Western Asia.

Although it is true that rose hip can be used in the form of tea, soup and jams, the vitamins they contain can be destroyed if vigorously cooked, processed and dried for long periods of time. It is therefore, essential to note overcook the rose hips.
