stalks of celery, chopped: 2

peeled and chopped carrots: 2

small sweet onion: 1

cloves of garlic: 3

ounces of tomato paste: 6

cups of water: 2

cups of red wine: 2

teaspoon of sage, dried: 1

teaspoon of basil, dried: 1

teaspoon of oregano, dried: 1

Salt and pepper to taste

ounces of chopped tomatoes: 28

How To Make Pomodoro Pasta Sauce

  1. In a large pot, stir the diced tomatoes, celery, carrots, sweet onion, garlic, tomato paste, red wine, water, sage, basil, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Bring the mixture to boil.
  3. Reduce the flame to low heat and let the sauce cook at a simmer.
  4. Cook for about one hour until carrots are tender.
  5. Pour the sauce into a blender and start to blend.
  6. Blend the sauce to the point you have received a puree like a mixture.
  7. Pour the mixture into a dry container.
