Penne with Chicken and Pesto

Penne pasta has been in place for many years, but if there is one thing that we have found out it goes well with, it is pesto. One bite of penne pasta and pesto, and you would say that both of these are a match made in heaven. However, this isn’t the end to what great dishes can be achieved through this brilliant amalgamation. Add chicken to this dish, and you have Penne with Chicken and Pesto that tastes like it is being served to royalty. Use additional Parmesan in the recipe and you’ll have cravings for it all your life.

The dish is relatively easy to make and takes around 30 minutes to make it for a serving of 8 people.

Ingredients

package of penne pasta, weighing: 1

tablespoons of melted butter: 2

tablespoons of olive oil: 2

boneless, skinless halves of chicken breast, cut into extremely thin strips: 4

cloves of minced garlic: 2

salt and pepper to add some taste to the dish

cup of heavy cream: 1 1/4

cup of pesto: 1/4

tablespoons of properly grated Parmesan cheese: 3 tbsp

How To Make Penne with Chicken and Pesto

  1. Pour some salted water inside a large pot and put it to boil.
  2. Add pasta to the boiling water and cook for around 8 to 10 minutes, until it becomes dense.
  3. Drain the water out.
  4. Heat olive oil and butter inside a large skillet put over medium heat. Sautee garlic and chicken over medium heat, until the chicken is properly cooked. Reduce the heat and stir in pepper, salt, cream, Parmesan cheese and pesto. Cook until the chicken does not look pink from the inside.
  5. Finally stir the dish with cooked pasta.

Trivia

Penne makes for an excellent choice to have for many kinds of pasta dishes, because of its practical design. The reason why it is so famous is because the hollow center gives it the ability to hold sauce. This is one of the reasons why penne pasta goes well with pesto and marinara sauce.
