Ingredients

5 large mangoes - peeled, stoned and sliced

5 medium potatoes - peeled and thinly sliced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 lb ground beef

1 onion - chopped

1 tbsp tomato sauce

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 (6 oz) can mushrooms - drained

2 tbsp butter - diced

How To Make Mince and Potato Hot Pot

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C.
  • Add potato slices in a medium bowl with enough water.
  • Heat the oil in a medium pan over medium heat.
  • Stir the ground beef, onion, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Season it with salt and pepper.
  • Cook beef until you notice it evenly browned, and onions become soft.
  • To a separate medium saucepan, add 1/4 cup butter.
  • When butter melts, blend in the flour and slowly stir in milk.
  • Cook and stir the mixture for 5 minutes, or until it thickens.
  • Reduce the flame. Blend cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Arrange a medium baking dish with half of potato slices.
  • Add the ground beef mixture, and top with mushrooms. Layer the cheese sauce mixture. Top with the remaining potatoes. End with two tablespoons butter.
  • Bake 30 - 40 minutes in the preheated oven until lightly browned.

TIP:

Most people also wrap it in an Aluminium foil. This makes clean-up easier.
