Indian Style Sheekh Kabab is a spicy Indian delicacy that will leave you craving for more. The authentic combination of flavors and spices makes this dish a special entry in many parties. Garlic, onion, ginger, cilantro, green chili, and spices are used to marinate beef, lamb, or chicken. You can even try turkey meat! The meat is wrapped around a metal skewer or bamboo and roasted in a tandoor (oven). It can also be deep fried in oil if you like.

Serve this dish with rice or roti or simply snack on the meat kababs with a traditional mint chutney on the side.

Ingredients

onion — chopped finely: 1

lbs lean ground lamb: 2

cup mint leaves — chopped finely: 1/2

tbsp ginger — paste: 1

cup cilantro — chopped finely: 1/2

tsp cumin — ground: 2

tbsp green chile — paste: 1

tsp paprika: 2

tsp coriander — ground: 2

tsp salt: 2

tsp cayenne pepper: 1

bamboo/skewers

cup vegetable oil: 1/4

How To Make Indian Style Sheekh Kabab

  • Add onions, ground lamb, mint, ginger paste, cilantro, and chile paste in a bowl. Sprinkle coriander, cumin, cayenne, salt, and paprika. Cover the bowl and store in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • Skewer the kebabs around greased skewers. Ensure that the meat is spread evenly so it is cookedconsistently. Refrigerate them.
  • Preheat the grill turning on high heat. Apply oil on the grate and arrange the kababs on the grill. Cook until they turn brown evenly. This should take nearly 10 minutes.

When making Indian Style Sheekh Kabab, you could also use aluminum foil to ensure that the meat remains moist and is evenly cooked.
