Homemade Pizza Dough

This easy homemade pizza dough is exactly what it’s billed as. Within a simple 30 minutes you will have two crusts ready to bake. Get the kids from football practice and you can choose the toppings together as a family. Top this fun pizza with anything you like. For me, it’s the classic, mozzarella, marinara, and peperoni; however, these crusts taste great with BBQ sauce or even sweet toppings. This dough even stays in a freezer, making it great for weekly meal prep.

Ingredients

package dried yeast: 1

cup lukewarm water: 1

cups all-purpose flour: 3 1/2

tsp salt: 1

tbsp olive oil: 2

cup cornmeal: 1/3

How To Make Homemade Pizza Dough

  1. Dissolve yeast in water.
  2. Combine flour and salt in large mixing bowl.
  3. Make a well in the center of the flour mound.
  4. Work in 1/2 of the yeast mixture with your hands.
  5. Add olive oil and then continue to work in the rest of the yeast mixture.

Note: Add 1 tbsp of water if necessary to make dough soft and smooth.

  1. Turn dough onto flat surface and knead for 10 minutes.
  2. Oil a large mixing bowl and place dough in it.
  3. Turn dough over to get oil on all sides.
  4. Cover with damp towel and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat pizza stone in oven at 500°
  6. Divide pizza dough in half.
  7. Roll out each half into 12-14" circles making crusts about 1/8" thick.
  8. Sprinkle 3 tbsp cornmeal onto the pizza peal.
  9. Place 1 pizza crust on pizza peal and lightly brush with olive oil.
  10. Add all ingredients you want on your pizza.
  11. Slide pizza from the peel onto the preheated pizza stone in the oven.
  12. Cook until the crust is crisp and golden.

Note: Dough can be frozen after rising.
