cup of tub light cream cheese: 1/4
chopped fresh basil: 1 tbsp
mustard: 1 tsp
teaspoon of freshly grounded black pepper: 1/4
slices of freshly baked whole wheat bread: 8
ounces of low-fat ham: 4
thick slices of a large ripped tomato: 8
cup of shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese: 1/4
How To Make Ham and Cheese Sandwich
- Preheat the broiler.
- Mix cream cheese, chopped basil, mustard and grounded black pepper thoroughly until a thick and smooth paste is formed.
- Take a baking sheet and place four whole wheat bread slices on it.
- Now, spread 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mix on each of the bread slice.
- Top each of the bread pieces with an ounce of ham slices.
- Sprinkle a tablespoon of cheddar cheese over the half sandwiches and put top bread slice on all four sandwiches.
- Broil for 2 minutes or until the cheese melts and bread is lightly browned.
