This recipe of ginger tea has honey and lemon. Adding a spoon of honey will cut in the fiery taste of ginger, and the lemon wedge will kick in the tea the acidity that balances out the strong flavor of ginger!

Other ingredients that make the tea more delicious include chamomile flowers, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and Echinacea tincture. Ginger root tea tastes best when served hot. Pour it in an insulated tumbler, one that will keep your tea hot and flavorful until the last sip!

Ingredients

water: 2 cups

lime: 1/2

inches of fresh raw ginger (quantity may vary depending on how strong you like it): 2

honey (or more): 2 tbsp

How To Make Ginger Root Tea

  1. Fill a pot with water and add ginger slices to it.
  2. Bring the water to boil and let it simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Tip: If you want a stronger ginger taste, then boil it for 10 more minutes

  4. Pour the tea through a sieve into an insulated tumbler.
  5. Pour in the honey and add a slice of lemon to the tea.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

  • Ginger’s history can be traced as far back as 5000 years ago. In 500 BC a Chinese philosopher described ginger as a root that “warms and softens the stomach”

In Philippines, ginger tea is called Salabat and is used to ward off cold, flu and nausea.
