Garlic tofu is a simple, yet lip-smacking dish that comes to your rescue when you don’t have meal planned for the day. Garlic tofu is very easy to prepare and the best part is that don’t have to hop from store to store in search of ingredients required for this recipe.This recipe translates crispy, savory, and garlicky tofu which goes well with a bed of cooked rice. Store it in a casserole to keep it warm for hours together.

Ingredients

extra firm tofu—chopped into small cubes: 500 g

garlic cloves: 7-8

piece of ginger: 2

dry red chilies: 8-10

soy sauce: 2 tsp

sesame oil: 2 tbsp

pepper powder: 1 tsp

salt to taste

Chopped spring onion greens—forgarnishing

white sesame seeds—for garnishing: 1 tbsp

How To Make Garlic Tofu

  1. Blend together chilies, ginger, sesame seeds, salt, and garlic to a coarse paste.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the paste and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Add soy sauce, tofu cubes, and pepper powder.
  5. Toss the pan and fry for 2 to 3 minutes till the color of the tofu cubes turns slightly golden.
  6. Transfer tofu to a serving plate, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds and enjoy!
