There are coffee enthusiasts and there are connoisseurs of liqueur, and then there are both! Espresso Martini is for the third kind! This cocktail is a blend of vodka, coffee liqueur, sugar syrup, and espresso coffee.
This coffee-based wonder of a cocktail has a funny tale surrounding its origin. The tale goes that a mixologist, in a happening pub in Soho, London, made it for a lady, who wanted a to get alert and tipsy at the same! And that’s how, this killer combination of coffee and vodka was born.
The veracity of this story cannot be assured, just like stories behind many a cocktail. However, the undisputed fact remains that Espresso Martini is a genius of a drink—classy, wicked, and hits the spot with panache!
Ingredients
vodka of your choice: 50 ml
coffee liqueur: 35 ml
espresso: 25 ml
ice cubes
coffee beans: 2 - 3
How To Make Espresso Martini Cocktail
- Chill a martini glass with ice.
- In a cocktail shaker, add vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, and ice, and shake vigourously. This is what gives the cocktail a luxurious creamy top.
- Remove ice cubes from the martini glass and strain the vodka-coffee mixture into the glass.
- Garnish with 2 -3 coffee beans.
Use 3 coffee beans to garnish your cocktail and you are through with the process. If you had something hot secured in your lunch box, you can have a bite before you lose yourself to the delight of a glass of espresso martini.
