This recipe requires very little effort to prepare and can be prepared in less than 5 minutes. You would have to be patient with the sauce and let it cook properly. Chimichangas can be considered as a derivative of a deep fried burrito, it consists of  a tortilla surrounded by a filling, which in this case happens to be chicken, sauce, margarine and cheese. The cumulative health benefits of these ingredients is invaluable to the human body, making it an extremely wholesome dish, which contains carbohydrates, protein, iron, folate and calcium.

Ingredients

picante sauce: 2/3 cup

ground cumin: 1 tbsp

dried oregano leaves, crushes: 1/3 tbsp

cooked chicken: 2 cups

cheddar cheese: 1 cup

green onions--chopped: 2

flour tortilla: 8 inch

margarine: 2 tbsp

shredded cheddar cheese

chopped onion

picante sauce

How To Make Chimichangas

  • Mix the chicken, picante sauce, oregano, cheese and cumin in a medium sized bowl.
  • Place ½ cup of the mixture in the center of each tortilla
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla over the fillings.
  • Roll them up and place side down on the baking dish.
  • Apply melted margarine on the baking dish.
  • Bake the baking dish at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes or until the chimichangas have turned golden.
  • According to taste, apply cheese, onion and sauce with the chimichangas. Enjoy!
