cup of balsamic vinegar: 1

cup of pure honey: 1/4

round tomatoes cut into slices measuring ½ an inch: 3

ounce package of fresh mozzarella cheese cut into slices of ¼ inch each: 16

quarter teaspoon of salt: 1

quarter teaspoon of ground black pepper: 1

half a cup of fresh basil leaves

quarter of a cup of extra-virgin olive oil: 1

How To Make Caprese Salad

  1. Stir both honey and balsamic vinegar together in a small saucepan and place it over high heat.
  2. Wait for the concoction to boil, and then reduce the heat to low and simmer until the mixture is reduced to one-third of a cup.
  3. Set the balsamic reduction made from the method above aside and wait for it to cool down.
  4. Arrange slices of mozzarella cheese and tomato alternatively and decorate as a serving platter.
  5. Sprinkle the black pepper and salt over the combination of mozzarella cheese and tomato.
  6. Spread fresh leaves of basil over the prepared salad and sprinkle olive oil on top of it.
  7. Finally drizzle the balsamic reduction that was prepared earlier on top of it to get the dish ready
