Candy Ice Cream

As far as sweets go, who doesn’t love candy bars? During childhood, most people wanted to eat candy as a part of all their meals. Thus it is safe to say that the combination of candy bars and ice cream is stuff made of dreams. This recipe is the actual answer to those wonderful childish dreams. Now that you’re an adult you owe it to your inner child to make good on this fantasy. It’s not even hard.

Ingredients

qt half-and-half cream: 2

eggs – lightly beaten: 4

cup milk: 1

cups sugar: 2 ¼

tsp salt: ¼

tsp vanilla extract: 4 ½

candy bars – chopped: 5

How To Make Candy Ice Cream

  1. Add the milk and half-and-half cream to a large, heavy-bottomed
    1. Heat it to 175⁰.
  2. Add the sugar and salt to it and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Whisk the 4 beaten eggs and a portion of the warm mixture together.
    1. Add it to the rest of the warm mixture and continue whisking.
  4. Keep whisking the mixture on a low heat, until it reaches at least 160⁰.
    1. Dip a wooden spoon into the mixture, and if it coats the back of the spoon, it means that the mixture is at the right consistency.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat and cool it down using an ice bath.
    1. Give it a good stir and add the vanilla extract.
    2. Stir it for 2 minutes more.
  6. Cover the container tightly with plastic and put it in the fridge overnight or for at least 4-6 hours.
  7. Take the chopped candy bar pieces and stir them into the frozen mixture.
  8. Put the mixture in the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  9. After churning it place the ice cream back into the refrigerator for 2-3 hours more until it becomes solid.
  10. Scoop out and serve the candy ice cream!
