Aloo tikki chaat is a famous Indian recipe which is eaten mostly in the Northern regions of the country. This chaat recipe has a sweet and a bit of tangy flavor which will make your taste buds dance.Garnish the patties with chutneys, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and pomegranate seeds.
Ingredients
medium potatoes, boiled: 4
cornstarch: 3 tsp
red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
amchur (dry mango powder): 1/2 tsp
roasted cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
ground coriander: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala: 1/4 tsp
Ghee or oil, for frying
finely chopped onion: 1
finely chopped tomato: 1
yogurt: 1/2 cup
mint chutney (you can adjust according to taste): 1/2 cup
tamarind chutney (you can adjust according to taste): 1/2 cup
chaat masala, to taste
rock salt/black salt, to taste
roasted cumin seeds, ground: 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder to taste
cilantro leaves, finely chopped
pomegranate seeds: 3/4 cup
How To Make Aloo Tikki Chaat
For the Potato Tikkis:
- Mash the boiled potatoes while they are hot to make a smooth paste with no lumps.
- Add all the ingredients, except ghee, and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into 4 portions.Make a flat patty with each portion.
- Add little ghee or oil to a nonstick tawa or pan. Place the pattiesin the pan.
- Fry until each side is crisp and golden.
Garnishing the Tikkis:
- Place two tikkis in a dish.
- Add some onions, tomatoes, yogurt and mint chutney on the tikki.
- Add some tamarind paste and more onions.
- Sprinkle with chaat masala, black salt, roasted cumin powder, and chilli powder.
- Top it with chopped cilantro and pomegranate seeds.
6. Serve while it's hot.
