7 Cup Burfi

Burfi is a sweet confectionery that is made from dense milk. It originates from India where it is a popular festival treat. You can find burfi all year around, but they’re especially popular during Diwali. This variation gets its name from the fact that it is made with 7 cups of ingredients. It tastes similar to traditional mysore pak, but with coconut flavorings. Make these burfi next time you celebrate a holiday with your family. This recipe stores well. You can store it in a storage container and eat later, and it will still taste as delicious as freshly prepared.

Health Benefits

This treat may be a sweet tasting dessert, but it’s far from being unhealthy. One of the ingredients of this recipe of 7 cup burfi is besan or gram flour. Besan is made from chickpeas, one of nature’s powerful superfoods. They are protein powerhouses which make them great for active people or people with meat restricted diets like vegetarian. They also have antioxidant properties including polyphenols, phytonutrients, and beta-carotene. Altogether they help reduce oxidative stress and eliminate free radicals, the cancer causing agents found in cells.
