Why a Bigger Meal in Later Part of the Day is Not a Good Idea?

In our hectic fast paced lives, it can be difficult to eat when we’re supposed to; eating at night has become more and more common as a result. This isn’t a good habit, because eating at night can cause some serious problems:

Alters Hormone Functionality

When you eat large meals at night, it can have a significant effect on your insulin, glucagon, and leptin levels.

Inflammation
Eating too much in the evening time is a great way to introduce inflammation to your body. And that is something you want to avoid at all costs. Inflammation is responsible for many of the body’s problems; everything from arthritis to heart disease is somewhat related to inflammation.

Impairs Blood Sugar Regulation
Your body cannot actually utilize insulin with the same efficiency at all times of the day; it varies. Human body can utilize insulin least effectively at night time, which makes glucose levels higher in the evening. If you have to eat at night, make sure to avoid eating foods with a high glycemic index.

Causes Unwanted Weight Gain
Our body has a natural circadian rhythm, which is the cycle of going to sleep and waking up. When you eat at night, it can put you off your natural sleep cycle and result in you putting on weight. Not to mention, eating at night time can easily increase the amount of food you are eating every day, which can lead to weight gain.

Elevates Cholesterol and Triglyceride Levels
When your circadian rhythm gets out of control, it can also disrupt your metabolism. Specifically, it alters the way your body breaks down lipids. This can easily result in an increased levels of triglycerides and cholesterol.

Impairs Memory Function

Perhaps the scariest part of eating late at night is that it can have an adverse effect on your memory and learning functionality.
