Scientists Conclude Asthma Patients Need More Vitamin D – Easy Ways to Include it in Your Diet

According to recent research, occupational asthma patients have low concentration of vitamin D. This is troublesome because not only does your body need vitamin D for a whole host of reasons, but research also suggests that vitamin D can actually reduce asthma attacks. Vitamin D helps to reduce upper respiratory infections like the common cold which can irritate your asthma and induce asthma attacks. Increasing your intake of vitamin D can even lower your body’s need to use steroid treatments.

Here are Some Foods with High Levels of Vitamin

There are lots of reasons to eat vitamin D, commonly referred to as the sunshine vitamin. It helps with your bone health and can prevent osteoporosis while keeping your teeth strong. It even helps your cells to absorb calcium. One of the best ways to increase your vitamin D intake naturally is to absorb sunlight. But for people who have fair skin or cannot be exposed to too much sun, there is another option. You can eat vitamin D laden food.

Here Are Some Vitamin D-Rich Foods:

Mushrooms
These fungi have significant quantities of vitamin D. They are a great non-animal source for you to rely on.

Fatty Fish
Fatty fish like tuna, salmon, mackerel, and anchovies are very high in vitamin D. If you can’t eat fish then you can rely on fish liver oil or other fish oils.

Egg Yolks
Egg yolks are also high in vitamin D. Make sure to use whole eggs that come from free grazing chickens. The vitamin D quantity of the egg yolks increases drastically when the chicken is allowed to absorb vitamin D.

Cheese
Dairy products like milk and cheese are classic sources of vitamin D. The best thing about them is that just about everyone loves cheese.
