The Magic of Medicinal Plants: How Aloe Vera Helps to Keep your Blood Sugar Level Under Control

Diabetes is a major chronic condition that effects millions of people in the world and costs billions of dollars in treatment. It is a direct result of your body’s inability to properly regulate your blood sugar level. If left untreated it can lead to death or other chronic illnesses like heart disease. Unfortunately, managing your blood sugar with insulin is not always the easiest thing to do. It is expensive and your body can develop a resistance to it overtime. The human body should be able to manage glucose levels and produce insulin on its own, but that is not always the case. Thankfully, there are many medicinal plants that can actually help you regulate your blood sugar level and alleviate some of the burden. One of the best plants to help with this is aloe vera.

Why does Aloe Vera work?

The aloe vera plant has a combination of minerals and nutrients that help to regulate your blood sugar level and prevent or treat diabetes. Aloe vera has amino acids, over 0 minerals, fatty acids, and phytonutrients. Some of the more important phytonutrients include Polysaccharides, Polyphenols, Saponins, Salicylic Acid, B-Sitosterol, Gibberellins, Campersterol, Lupeol, and Anthraquinones. They work together to lower your insulin levels produced by the pancreas.

This plant isn’t just wonderful because of how it effects your blood sugar levels; it is also very versatile. There are a variety of different ways to get into your system. You can simply eat it, use it as a sweetener, apply it to your skin, mix it into a smoothie, or take supplements. It is best if you use it as a sweetener because then you will receive its natural insulin regulating benefits, while also eating less refined sugar, which can boost your blood sugar levels.
