How to Soothe Your Skin Naturally After Waxing?

Waxing is undoubtedly one of the safest ways to keep body hair away. However, those with sensitive skin might experience certain side-effects including redness, irritated and dry skin, and itchy bumps. Worry not, for here are some simple and powerful home remedies to help soothe the skin naturally after a waxing session. You might also want to consult a doctor if the symptoms do not go away or if you experience severe side effects.

Natural ways to soothe the skin

  • One of the best ways to soothe the skin naturally after waxing is to use a cold compress. Use some ice wrapped in a soft towel and apply on the affected region. Keep it there for a few minutes and follow the process 2-3 times until you notice the symptoms reduce.
  • Aloe vera is also a great soothing agent. Add some aloe vera, freshly extracted into a bowl. Blend with some calendula oil drops well and coat a layer of this blend on the affected area. Calendula oil is known for its antioxidant properties which can help alleviate pain. Allow the skin to dry and then rinse with some warm water. Finally, apply a layer of moisturizing lotion.
  • Witch hazel is another powerful agent known for its astringent properties. It can help heal inflamed skin and also reduce dryness. Take a cotton pad and soak it in a bowl to which approximately 3 tbsp of witch hazel has been added. Apply gently on the inflamed area of the skin.
  • Milk is also known for its powerful moisturizing properties. It can help treat irritated and dry skin too. Cold milk makes an excellent remedy to treat redness and soreness. Take a cotton pad and soak it in a bowl filled with cold milk. Apply over the affected areas. Allow the milk to dry and wash off with cold water.
