Hemps seeds are actually extremely nutrient dense; they are rich in protein, healthy fats, and various other minerals. First off, hemp seeds are technically nuts, which is why they are so nutrient dense, like nuts tend to be. Hemp seeds are also known as hemp hearts and have a mild nutty flavor. They are 30% fat and rich in 2 essential fatty acids: alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) and linoleic acid (omega-6). And hemp seeds are amazing sources of protein which are 25% of the total calories in hemp seeds.

2. Hemp Seeds Reduce Your Risk of Heart Disease

Hemp seeds contain large amounts of arginine which is an amino acid that creates nitric oxide in your body. Nitric oxide reduces your blood pressure by forcing your blood vessels to dilate and relax which protects your heart from heart disease.

3. Hemp Seeds can Treat Skin Disorders

Your immune system is heavily dependent on omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. Hemp seeds can give you all the omega-6 and omega-3s that you could ever needs. They are a great source of polyunsaturated and essential fatty acids at a 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3s. This is why hemp seed oil is great for treating certain skin disorders like eczema. It reduces dry skin, improves itchiness, and lowers your need for skin medications.
