Foods to Boost Your immune System

Citrus fruits

Citrus is one of the best things to boost your immune system. Most people already know this, as vitamin C is regularly spouted as one of the best things for fighting against cold and flu. It does this by actually increasing your white blood cell count. This is important because white blood cells are the fighting force of your immune system.

Red bell peppers

Citrus fruits are normally put forth as the go to for vitamin C. They definitely have vitamin C, but they aren’t the ultimate powerhouses of vitamin C. Bell peppers actually have 3 times as much vitamin C as oranges. They have more vitamin C than any fruit out there. And they are a good source of beta carotenes which plays a crucial role in keeping your eyes and skin healthy.

Broccoli

Broccoli is a nutrient dense vegetable that has everything your immune system needs to function well. It contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and a lot of antioxidants.  The antioxidants work to clean up free radicals that cause cancer. Broccoli sauteed in butter served warm from a casserole is delicious and great for immunity.
