1. Brahmi

Brahmi, also known as Bacopa is a great herb to help you achieve a good night’s sleep. It not only promotes restful sleep but it helps to calm you down during periods of emotional turbulence and also works to improve your sense of concentration and alertness. In Ayurveda, brahmi is considered to be a brain tonic. It also is used to treat digestive ailments, improve blood cocirculation, and generally support the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

2. Shankhpushpi

Shankhpushpi is an herb that acts like an antioxidant. It contains alkaloids, flavonoids, and glycosides which have soothing properties. Specifically, shankhpushpi can help relieve your mental fatigue by soothing your nervous system. It is somewhat of a natural sedative for anxiety type neuroses which can prevent sleep.

3. Vacha

Vacha can help your brain to relax and cure you of some of your insomnia and tension. It basically functions as a coolant that helps the nerves to relax and induces sleep. Vacha can be considered to be a nervous system tonic that wards off stress and other issues preventing sleep.

4. Sarpgandha

Sarpgandha is also known as Indian snakeroot; it contains more than 50 alkaloids which have all kinds of marvelous benefits. A couple that truly benefit the quality of your sleep are the ability to reduce high blood pressure and hypertension.

5. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has a reputation for promoting sound sleep. This is primarily because ashwagandha contains the active compound, triethylene glycol, which is fantastic for putting you to sleep. This herb is also good for providing relief from daily stress, exhaustion, and anxiety.

6. Jatamasi

Jatamasi is a natural memory enhancer and brain tonic. It helps to facilitate relaxation and calmness which is perfect for a hyperactive mind. Taking this herb will help you to induce a sound sleep while nourishing and rejuvenating the nervous system.
