Curry leaves, also known as kadi patta, are some of the oldest spices used in cooking. It is so delicious and flavorful, that an entire branch of cooking, curry, is named after it. They are more than just flavorful herbs needed to enhance food. They are also powerful medicinal plants used for their curative properties in Ayurveda medicine. It has been known to treat various health problems like blood pressure, weight gain, indigestion, anemia, etc. They are filled with various vitamins and minerals, like vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, calcium, amino acids, fiber, phosphorous, protein, and iron. 1. Relieves morning sickness

Curry leaves are actually a wonderful curative for pregnant women suffering from morning sickness. You can extract the juice from fresh curry leaves, combine it with 1 tsp of lime juice, and a pinch of jaggery, and have an easy to prepare tonic. If you drink it daily, you will increase your digestive secretions that help prevent nausea, morning sickness, and vomiting.

2. Cures diarrhea

Curry leaves contain carbazole alkaloids that contain anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that also help combat an upset stomach. It also stops you from suffering from diarrhea.

3. Heals wounds, skin eruptions and burns

The alkaloids in curry leaves can also be used to increase the healing speed of wounds like, cuts, boils, burns, and irritation caused by itchy skins. You can make a paste from the leaves by grinding them up and combining them with some water. The paste has antiseptic properties which makes for a good salve.

4. Keeps anemia at bay

Curry leaves have everything you need to prevent anemia. They are rich in folic acid and iron. Iron is responsible for the development of blood cells, and the folic acid helps your body absorb iron more efficiently.

5. Helps in losing weight

Chewing on raw curry leaves or simply drinking some curry leaf tea, can play a role in lowering LDL cholesterol and preventing unwanted weight gain. The leaves also help the body to flush out harmful toxins.
