cardamom powder

tbsp grated coconut: 2

banana — mashed: 1

tbsp rice flour: 1.5

cup heaped jaggery: 1/2

cup wheat flour: 1

How To Make Whole wheat sweet appam recipe

  • Soak the jaggery in enough warm water to immerse it well. Crush and heat until slightly thick. Strain and set it aside.
  • Add wheat flour in a mixing bowl and combine it with jaggery syrup. Mix well and add enough water to make a batter of pouring consistency. Mix in rice flour and ensure there are no lumps. Add the coconut, cardamom powder, cooking soda, and mashed banana.
  • Mix the ingredients thoroughly. Heat the greased paniyaram pan ensuring each slot is covered with oil. Fill every paniyaram slot with appam batter. Cover and cook for about 1 minute. Flip sides and cook evenly until golden brown. Serve hot.
