Tomato Chips

Tomato Chips

The tomato is a fruit and a vegetable, and now with this dish, it’s also a chip. Tomato chips are a healthy and interesting take on the traditional potato chip. They have the interesting flavorings of the tomato, which admittedly are not as addictive as the salt-infused carb load of traditional chips, but are nevertheless delicious. Serve these chips as a snack or as a pre-meal appetizer and your friends and family will be amazed at your cooking ingenuity.

Health Benefits

We already know tomato chips are delicious, and I’m sure we at least suspect that they are healthy. There’s no longer a reason to speculate; eating tomatoes are healthy for you and here’s why. Tomatoes possess large amounts of lycopene, a free radical reducing antioxidant. Lycopene helps the human body fight certain cancers: prostate, stomach, cervical, rectum, esophageal, and stomach cancers just to name a few. Tomatoes’ vitamin C content also help the body to fight and recover from illness.
