There is never any hard and fast rule when it comes to preparing salads. However, this has not always been the way people prepared this easy meal. During ancient times, people used to enjoy simple kinds of salad. History states that the Babylonians used to dress their greens with oil and vinegar only. Egyptians favored their raw vegetables with ingredients like oil, vinegar, and Asian spices.

At the turn of the 20th century, the classic Caesar salad was introduced, consisting of greens, romaine lettuce, and a garlic vinaigrette dressing. It became one of the greatest recipes of America. Owing to its huge popularity, people started reinventing this dish in a number of delicious ways.

Here is a fresh and simple cucumber and avocado salad with a tangy-flavored dressing made with lime, garlic, and onions.

Ingredients

2 medium fresh cucumbers

2 fresh avocados

4 tbsp fresh cilantro

1 clove garlic

2 tbsp green onions

¼ tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

¼ large lime

2 tsp lime juice

How To Make Tangy Cucumber and Avocado Salad

  • Cut the cucumbers and avocados in small cubes and add them into a medium-sized bowl.
  • Add chopped fresh cilantro, garlic cloves, and green onions to the cucumbers and avocados in the bowl.
  • Mix all the ingredients until well combined.
  • Add in the salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Generously squeeze in lemon and lime juice over the top. Toss well.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve in a serving bowl and enjoy!
