Now it is no surprise that veggie smoothies earn you frowns and ‘ews’ from your family so this is the ultimate way of making sure your family has all those nutrients through this tasty recipe. Made of the goodness of spinach, kale, and yumminess of banana and strawberry, this is a smoothie that will forever be your go to. Popeye didn’t swear by spinach just like that! You can also make these smoothies for guests or that family brunch you were planning. They are definitely a better option than those fizzy, soda drinks.

Health Benefits:

Spinach is extremely rich in iron, calcium, protein, potassium, magnesium, vitamin A, and folate! Spinach consists of an anti-oxidant called alpha-liopic acid, which is known to lower glucose levels, thus treating diabetic patients. Spinach also consists of chlorophyll like other green vegetables which are known to prevent cancers. It is good at preventing asthma and improving bone health as well.

Strawberries are full of anti-oxidants which are good at detoxifying and clearing the body of free radicals, which lead to inflammation and deterioration of tissues and muscles in the body. Hence strawberries treat arthritis, prevent cancer, promote a healthy eyesight and lowers risk of stroke.

Kale is known to be the best source of vitamin K, which is essential for blood clotting.

Ingredients

spinach, chopped: 2/3 cup

kale, chopped: 2/3 cup

banana: 1

strawberries, frozen: 5

water: 1 cup

mint leaves

How To Make Strawberry Veggie Smoothie

  • Add spinach and kale in a blender along with water.
  • Blend for a minute until the greens liquefy entirely.
  • After the greens are liquefied, add in banana and strawberries and blend again until you get a smooth consistency.
  • Add water till you get the desired consistency.
  • Fill the smoothies in glasses and garnish with mint leaves and ice cubes.
  • Serve Chilled.
