There is hardly any difference between a Scotch Manhattan and Rob Roy except for the choice of whiskey. The Rob Roy follows the Manhattan recipe; it combined your preferred Scotch with sweet vermouth. It is easy and popular- Bartenders and everyone else should know how to make it.
It doesn’t matter if you use a blended or single malt Scotch. It’s all about your preference, really. Although, blended whiskey is popularly used.Do not forget to store some Rob roy cocktail in a water bottle from Vaya to sip through the day.
Ingredients
Scotch whisky: 1 ½ oz
sweet vermouth: ¾ oz
Angostura bitters to taste
Maraschino cherry (for garnish)
How To Make Rob Roy
- Fill a mixing glass with ice and pour the ingredients into it.
- Stir thoroughly.
- Stain into a cocktail glass.
- Garnish with the cherry.

The cocktail was created in 1894 and named after the operetta, Rob Roy, based upon the Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor.
