Plum Tea

Plum tea is very nutritious. It can be used as a substitute for regular tea in your home.

However, it takes a little more effort to prepare when compared to regular tea. Therefore, it may seem wiser to serve it on special occasions only or at tea parties at your home.

Whatever the case, it is definitely worth your while. Let’s have a look at how it is prepared!

Ingredients

white wine: 1 glass

strawberries: 6

water: 1 glass

plums: 10-12

lemons: 4

baking soda: 4 tbsp

Sugar: 2 cups

sparkling water: 1/2 cup

mint leaves – a handful

How To Make Plum Tea

For White Wine Ice Cubes

  1. Fill up an ice tray with a glass of wine.
  2. Place the ice tray in the freezer and let it freeze for at least a couple of hours.

For Strawberry Ice Cubes

  1. Remove crowns of each of the strawberries.
  2. Slice each of the strawberries in half.
  3. Fill up an ice tray with water in a way that only half of all the compartments are filled with water.
  4. Add one half of a strawberry to each compartment.
  5. Place the ice tray in the freezer and let it freeze for at least a couple of hours.

For Plum Tea

  1. Take a large bowl and place all the plums and lemons into it.
  2. Sprinkle baking soda on top of them and leave these for an hour.
  3. Wash off all the baking soda from the fruits with running water.
  4. Once, properly clean, remove stems and pits of all the plums and dice these into pieces.
  5. Slice 1 lemon into equal slices and juice the remaining 3 lemons.
  6. Take a large mixing bowl.
  7. Add a few plum slices into it.
  8. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar on top then place more slices of plums on top of it.
  9. Repeat this process until all the plums and sugar have been used.
  10. Place lemon slices on top.
  11. Mix everything well.
  12. Add lemon juice into the bowl and set the bowl aside at room temperature for half the day until all the sugar is dissolved.
  13. Then pour the plum tea into jars and seal them.
  14. Refrigerate the jars for at least 2 days.
  15. After 2 days the plum tea will be ready for drinking.
  16. Take glasses.
  17. Add mint leaves, white wine ice cubes and strawberry ice cubes into each of the glasses.
  18. Fill up a quarter of the glass with sparking water.
  19. Pour the prepared plum tea with a large ladling spoon into the glass.
  20. Add plum and lemon slices into the glasses and serve while it’s chilled!
