Ingredients

cups atta or whole wheat flour: 2

cup bell peppers--finely chopped: 1/2

cup finely chopped onions: 1/2

cups grated mozzarella cheese--thawed to room temperature: 1 1/4

cup corn kernels—thawed to room temperature: 1/4

olives—pitted and sliced: 8-10

cup pizza sauce: 1/2

Italian seasoning

cooking oil

salt to taste

water

How To Make Pizza Paratha

  1. Combine whole wheat flour and water and knead to a smooth dough.
  2. Coat the dough with oil, cover with a cloth and let sit for 20 minutes.
  3. Combine cheese, onions, olives, corns, bell peppers, salt, and seasoning.
  4. Divide the dough into balls. Use some flour for dusting and roll each ball flat using a rolling pin.
  5. Place a tablespoon of stuffing on the center. Flip the edge of the circular dough towards the center to cover the stuffing; dust the stuff-filled dough and roll flat again.
  6. Heat a tawa over medium-high flame, drizzle some oil and place the stuffed filled based. Let roast for a few seconds, flip over, add more oil. Ensure both sides are roasted and the paratha is cooked through.
  7. Enjoy with curds, pickle, or raita!

Trivia

It is likely that the modern day pizza was an improvisation of the focaccia, a flat bread which the Romans known as ‘panisfocacius’. Toppings were added to these breads then.
