Ingredients

2 -3 tbsp of olive oil

2 tbsp of cooking oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed

1 cup of canned tomato with juice

¼ tsp dried oregano

salt

freshly-ground black pepper

1 can of tuna, drained and flaked(6 1/2 ounces)

2 tbsp sliced green olives, with some juice

1 tbsp capers, with some juice

8 oz spaghetti or 8 oz pasta of your choice

Parmesan cheese, grated

How To Make Pasta with Tuna Sauce

  • Set a large pot of water for boiling.
  • Add a dash of cooking oil and saltand pasta to the pot.
  • Cook pasta al dente (slightly undercooked so it has a little bite to it). Drain the water and keep it aside.
  • To a medium-sized heavy saucepan, add olive oil and let it heat up.
  • Cook the onion and garlic on medium heat until the onion is brown and tender.
  • Add the tomatoes and juice and simmer on low heat.
  • Add salt, pepper, and oregano and mix well.
  • Add tuna, olives, and capers and cook until the sauce has thickened.
  • Add the pasta to the tuna sauce and stir well. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with parmesan cheese and enjoy.
