Ingredients

paneer, grated: 3/4 cup

khoya (solidified milk): 3/4 cup

milk: 1/2 cup

arrowroot: 1/2 cup

ground cardamom: 1/4 tsp

clarified butter: 1 tbsp

Sugar: 1 cup

water: 1/2 cup

Saffron: 1/8 tsp

Finely chopped almonds or pistachios, for garnishing

How To Make Paneer Malpua

  1. Beat paneer, khoya, arrowroot, and cardamom in a bowl until very smooth.
  2. Add the milk and mix everything together so that you can get a smooth batter. Cover the bowl and place it aside.
  3. Mix the sugar, water, and saffron in a pan and place on low heat so that the sugar can dissolve.
  4. Heat the clarified butter in a pan. Add batter by tablespoonfuls to the pan. Cookthe malpua on both sides until light brown.
  5. Dip the malpua into the sugar mixture.
  6. Repeat the process until all the batter is cooked.
  7. Sprinkle with almonds and serve it at once.

Trivia

Milk comes in two distinct forms- curd and whey. Curd is the solid part of the milk while whey contains the liquid part.
