Ingredients

2 cup fava beans- peeled and canned

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion- minced and sliced

2 garlic cloves- roasted

1 tsp cumin

1 cup water

salt to taste

1 tsp pepper- black

1/2 tsp lemon juice

How To Make Middle Eastern Bean Dip

  • Pour your canned fava beans in a colander to drain, rinse in cold water and keep it apart
  • Heat oil in a skillet, stir in and fry onion till it turns golden, add garlic, cumin, fava beans, 1/2 cup water and boil for 15 minutes
  • Add salt and pepper to taste and let it simmer for 5 minutes for the beans to become tender. Open the lid of pot for the liquid to reduce and continue the cooking
  • Add fava beans mixture in bowl, pour in lemon juice, and mix the mixture thoroughly
  • Serve hot and enjoy.
