Ingredients

tsp oil: 1

tsp mustard seeds: 1

tsp jeera seeds: 1

tsp jeera seeds: 1/2

tsp jeera seeds: 1

green chilies – sliced: 2

cup methi leaves – finely chopped: 1

tsp chilly red powder: 1/4

tsp black pepper powder: 1/4

salt to taste

cup rice – soaked and washed for 30 mins: 1/2

cup yellow moong dal –soaked and washed for 30 mins: 1/2

cups water: 3-4

How To Make Methi Khichdi

  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
    • Add mustard seeds and cook them until they start to splutter.
    • Add the methi seeds and jeera; fry them until they are lightly browned.
  • Add and fry the onions till they turn a pinkish color.
  • Add methi leaves and green chilies.
    • Fry everything for 1 min.
  • Add dry spices and cook for another minute.
  • Add dal, water, and rice then close the cooker.
  • Reduce the gas and let it cook after one whistle.
