mutton: 500 g

onion- finely chopped: 150 g

coconut- dry and grated: 1

tsp sesame seeds: 2

tsp khuskhus (poppy seeds): 1

tbsp ginger-garlic: 2

tbsp oil: 2

tbsp chili powder: 2

tbsp garam masala: 1

tbsp garlic- fried: 1/2

tbsp onion paste: 1

tsp turmeric powder: 1

tsp asafetida: 1/2

salt to taste

salt to taste: 2

How To Make Kolhapurifataka – Mutton Rassa

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add turmeric, asafetida, ginger-garlic, and the chopped onions. Fry for 5 minutes or until the onion turns golden.
  • Add the mutton, mix well and cook for 10 minutes. Stir in the masala, salt and let the water evaporateand ensure the mutton is well cooked.
  • Dry roast the coconut. Grind the coconut, add sesame and khuskhus (poppy seeds), mix it with the meat curry and serve at once.
