Ingredients

1 cup uncooked White rice

1 lb fresh Green peas (trimmed and snapped)

1 lb skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (diced)

¾ cup chicken broth

1/3 cup peanut butter paste

2 tsp honey

1 tbsp soya sauce

1 tbsp Red chili paste

2 tbsp lemon juice

3 Green onions (sliced)

salt – to taste

water – as needed

olive oil – as needed

How To Make Indonesian Chicken

  1. To a pot on low flame, add a tablespoon of olive oil and a dash of salt.
  2. Add a glass full of water into the pot and bring it to boil.
  3. Add the washed and rinsed rice into the pot.
  4. Cover the pot and let the rice cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Take the rice off the heat once it is done.
  6. Set it aside for serving in the end.
  7. To a non-stick pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat it.
  8. Fry the chicken breast halves and the green peas in the frying pan until they are tender.
  9. While the chicken is frying, use a mixing bowl for the rest of the ingredients.
  10. Add chicken broth, peanut butter, soya sauce, honey, chili paste, lemon juice and salt into the bowl.
  11. Whisk all the ingredients well.
  12. Set the mixed up spices aside until the chicken and beans get tender.
  13. Once, the chicken is fried on both sides, add the spices to the frying pan.
  14. Cook the chicken and the green peas for another 5 to 10 minutes with the spices.
  15. Garnish with chopped green onion and serve with the rice already set aside!
