Great Dane

Great Dane

Cocktail recipe is not referencing the Great Dane dog breed, but the nation of Denmark. The original recipe is made with cherry brandy or Heering, gin, dry vermouth, kirsch and occasionally, lemon. Although the Great Dane cocktail references the country of Denmark, there is nothing very Danish or straitlaced about it; this is perhaps one of the many things that makes the drink so great.

There are many varieties of this nice cocktail. Some recipes include certain particular ingredients such as Aquavit, cranberry juice, orange bitters, and other items.Do not forget to store some great dane cocktail in a water bottle from Vaya to sip through the day.

This drink is traditionally served using a chilled long cocktail glass but in truth, you can use any glass you want.

The main ingredients of the cocktail bring a unique flavor and each one complements the other to make the drink perfect as a whole. The kirsch is a fruit brandy that’s made from cherries but unlike some cherry brandies, it doesn’t have a sweet taste. The flavor it has can be best described as a bitter-almond flavor. Vermouth on the other hand is an aromatized wine that’s flavored with several botanicals. Dry vermouth has many health benefits and it tastes a bit like olive juice. CherryHeering or brandy will complement the other ingredients with its rich and fruity flavor. A combination of these items with some other ingredients will give you the perfect cocktail for you to sip in the afternoon or evening.

The Great Dane cocktail is the perfect drink for a date.
