French Dip

French dip sadwich, also known as a beef dip,  is a scrumptious fast food meal that serves thinly sliced roast beef on any kind of bun, but mainly it is served on a French roll.

Besides beef, the sanwich comprises of tasty Swiss cheese and fried onions. To make the dish more delicious, it is also served with a sauce –  “au jus” which basically is an aromatic beef broth.Now don’t forget to make and share the simple yet mouth watering recipe of French dip.

Ingredients

medium thinly sliced sweet onion: 1

salt-free onion-herb seasoning blend: 2 tsp

olive oil: 2 tbsp

cup of water: 1/2

beef broth: 1 cup

thinly sliced cooked roast beef: 8 ounces

french rolls: 2.5 ounces

slices reduced-fat swiss cheese: 4

How To Make French Dip

  1. Heat the oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Once the oil is heated, add in the sweet onions. Stir in ½ teaspoon of the herb blend.
  3. Cook sweet onions for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring constantly. Add in 2 tablespoons of water at a time, until onions are golden brown.
  4. Now in a large saucepan, pour in the beef broth and add in the remaining 1 ½ teaspoons herb blend. Cook over medium heat until hot.
  5. Add in the beef and stir properly until it is well combined with the beef broth.
  6. Now place the French roll on a plate. Cut it in half. Bake for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly toasted.
  7. Now remove the beef from the broth, and place it on the bottom of the roll.
  8. Place cooked onions and a slice of Swiss cheese. Cover it with the top of the roll.
  9. Serve it with the warm beef broth for dipping and enjoy!
