Ingredients

beef, ground and lean: 1 pound

yellow onion, diced: 1

garlic cloves, minced: 4-5

teaspoon of red pepper flakes: 1/2

prego italian sauce: 1.24 ounce

cup of chicken broth, low on sodium: 8-10

can crushed tomatoes: 1.15 ounces

tablespoons of tomato paste: 2

teaspoons of balsamic vinegar: 2

teaspoon of granulated sugar: 1 1/2

tablespoon of dried basil: 1

teaspoon of dried parsley: 1

teaspoon of dried oregano: 1

teaspoon of salt: 1

teaspoon of pepper: 1/2

whole bay leaf: 1

lasagna sheets, uncooked and broken into 1 – 2-inch pieces: 10

cup of heavy cream (optional): 1/2

shredded mozzarella cheese

parmesan cheese, freshly grated

ricotta cheese

How To Make Easy Lasagna Soup

  1. Heat a large Dutch oven or soup pot over medium to high heat.
  2. Add ground beef in the pot with onion and cook.
  3. Stir occasionally until the beef is browned.
  4. Add garlic and red pepper flakes to the beef and sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Drain the excess fat off.
  6. In the beef, add Prego sauce, 6 cups of chicken broth, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, sugar, spices and uncooked pieces of lasagna noodles.
  7. Bring the mixture to boil and then reduce the heat to let it simmer.
  8. Let the mixture cook until lasagna noodles are tender (for 25 to 30 minutes). Stir occasionally.
  9. Stir in heavy cream now if you want it in your Lasagna Soup.
  10. Add 2 to 4 cups of chicken broth to achieve the desired consistency of the soup.
  11. Garnish individual servings with desired cheese quantity.
