Cucumber Chutney

Cucumber is known to be known to be a very healthy vegetable and is consumed by people worldwide just plain or in many forms. However, the fanciest way to consume this vegetable is to make a chutney out of it. The taste of spices and condiments that are used in the making of this chutney recipe gives a nice twist and taste to cucumber. Cucumber Chutney recipe tastes best when it is hot. Store it in a storage container to keep it warm for hours together.

Ingredients

Raw cucumber—peeled and roughly chopped

tbsp mustard seeds: 1/4

curry leaves

green chilies—slit: 4

tbsp cumin seeds: 1/2

salt to taste

garlic cloves: 1 - 2

Juice of one lemon

tbsp cumin: 1/4

A pinch of asafetida

tsp oil: 1

How To Make Cucumber Chutney

  1. In a pan, heat oil, and fry the chilies and set them aside to cool.
  2. In a blending jar, combine fried chilies with the other ingredients and blend smooth.
  3. Check salt and lemon juice, add more if desired.

  1. Cucumber chutney is also known as DosakayaPachadi in Andhra Pradesh
  2. Apart from being a side dish, it is also consumed as themain dish in Andhra Pradesh.
  3. Cucumbers are excellent mouth fresheners as well.
