Creole Crevette is something that has gained a lot of popularity in the recent years because of how perfectly it manages to combine Indian and European cuisines. While the Indian cuisine is known for its spices, and the Europeans for their rich creaminess, this dish serves as the best of both worlds. Primarily the meat used is that of a prawn but others can be used depending on the person’s different palates.

Ingredients

prawns: 200 gm

coconut oil: 4 tbsp

chopped onions: 4 tbsp

garlic: 1 tsp

chopped green chilies: 1 tsp

chopped tomatoes: 2

Turmeric powder: 1 tsp

salt to taste

A few curry leaves

yogurt: 2 tbsp

coconut milk: 1/2 cup

How To Make Creole Crevette

  1. Before starting off, make sure that you have cleaned and de-scaled the prawns before you get started.
  2. Once properly cleaned, dry them off thoroughly.
  3. Now marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric powder.
  4. Keep marinating the prawns in this powder for around 5 minutes.
  5. In a separate pan, heat up some oil.
  6. Then lightly fry the prawns in a pan and keep them aside.
  7. Now, heat some coconut oil in a pan.
  8. Add some chopped onions, garlic, green chilies, tomatoes and turmeric powder.
  9. Once it starts spluttering, add in some salt, curry leaves and yoghurt.
  10. The creamy sauce will add a lot of taste to the overall dish.
  11. Mix them well and make sure that you get the right sort of consistency.
  12. Now add the fried prawns and add some more coconut milk.
  13. Bring the mixture to a boil and garnish them all with coriander leaves.
  14. Serve it hot with some boiled rice.
